Children

The children of HMC can grow up knowing that they are truly an essential part of our congregation. We invest time in intergenerational relationships, and we value the contributions of children to our worship, our fellowship, and our learning.

We hope that our nursery is a space where children and their caregivers can feel safe and enjoy connecting with each other. If you choose to take a young child into the nursery for a time during worship, the sound of the worship service can be played in that room for those who wish to stay connected in that way.

It's also normal for there to be the sounds of babies and children during our worship. Our shared values mean we happily welcome this! We believe it's ok for kids to be kids, for parents to explain what's happening during a service, and for kids and others to wander around during a service or leave for a break or washroom visit. If you have a question, start with one of our greeters wearing nametags, or just ask the person next to you.
