Pastor Alissa Bender
Alissa began her ministry at Hamilton Mennonite Church in November
2010. She completed studies at Wilfrid Laurier University (Waterloo,
Ontario) and Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary (Elkhart, Indiana),
through which she had opportunities to serve congregations in Goshen,
IN and Abbotsford, BC.
Before coming to Hamilton she served as Associate Pastor at Calgary
First Mennonite Church, where she enjoyed preaching, leading worship,
and walking alongside people of all ages on the journey of faith.
Alissa is passionate about the Church and its calling to embody
Christ’s work of peace in a hurting world. She is also passionate about
the global church, about creativity and authenticity in worship, and
bringing all generations together in the quest to live
counter-culturally as Jesus’ followers.
Alissa’s other delights in life include music, travel, languages,
Ultimate Frisbee, and storytelling in many forms.
